Regional Sales Manager

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) sells our products to new customers within the Western Region and works closely with our established channel to close a high volume of new business. The RSM prospects for new clients for HigherGround’s Critical Communications suite of software interaction recording solutions. The RSM reports to the VP of Sales and operates under minimal supervision, relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

This position is remote-based, and the ideal candidate must live in the Pacific Time Zone territory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Close sales and meet quota

  • Build and maintain a high performance pipeline

  • Confidently speak in detail about HigherGround's solutions while collaborating with the customer and partner to ensure success

  • Utilize Solutions Selling strategies to determine client needs

  • Conduct effective solution presentations and software demonstrations

  • Develop proposals and purchase agreements for potential clients

  • Attend conferences/trade shows

  • Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs)

  • Utilize CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software to track and monitor sales activity, address issues, and track and monitor customer satisfaction

  • Travel domestically and internationally without driving or travel restrictions

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

  • BS/BA degree in a business-related field or the equivalent in sales experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

  • Software solution sales into the Critical Communications or Command & Control marketplace

  • Exposure to interaction recording for critical communications, command & control, and PSAP markets (dispatch, healthcare, utilities, security, contact center, etc.)

  • A thorough understanding of Solutions Selling and its application

  • Understanding of product positioning and competitive conditions

  • Understanding of selling under government contract, as well as competitive bidding situations

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years of software solution sales experience into the Critical Communications, Command & Control, Public Safety, or Contact Center industries

  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas

  • Channel management experience

  • Experience in managing large territories

  • Advanced experience with CRM systems

  • Demonstrated experience in the following software programs (MS Office, Windows 10, Skype for Business)

  • Experience in the regular use of PCs, laptops, and other hardware as used by Sales and Technical Trainers

  • Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning, business, and market development

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Polished presentation skills

  • Extensive experience in a Critical Communications, Contact Center, and/or PSAP sales environment, selling a software application/solution or comparable advanced technology product/service

  • Exceptional prospecting and qualifying skills

  • Excellent project management ability

  • Work effectively with senior-level executives and staff

  • The ability to motivate or influence others

  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment

  • Demonstrated ability to create, develop and close solution sales

  • A network in contact center or public safety industry to help accelerate sales

  • Problem solving and negotiation ability with special emphasis on resolving issues impacting departments or divisions

  • Keep abreast of new technology trends and how they apply to real world projects
