Regional Sales Manager

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for selling HigherGround’s mission critical technology solutions to new customers within the Eastern Region in order to increase revenue. The RSM reports to the VP of Sales and operates under minimal supervision, relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position is remote-based, and the ideal candidate must live in the territory.

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Prospecting, developing and closing new sales within the Public Safety arena

  • Build and maintain a high performance pipeline

  • Confidently speak in great detail regarding HigherGround's solutions while collaborating with the customer to ensure success

  • Utilize Solutions Selling strategies to determine client needs

  • Conduct effective solution presentations and software demonstrations

  • Develop proposals and purchase agreements for potential clients

  • Attend conferences/trade shows

  • Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs)

  • Utilize CRM software to track and monitor sales activity and provide accurate monthly / quarterly sales projections

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

  • BS/BA degree in a business-related field or the equivalent in sales experience

 

EXPECTED KNOWLEDGE

  • Software solution sales into PSAP’s, Dispatch Centers and Police Departments

  • Complete understanding of PSAP technology and ecosystem

  • Strong network of Public Safety agencies (Dispatch / Police Departments)

  • A thorough understanding of Solution Selling sales processes

  • Understanding of product positioning and competitive conditions within Public Safety agencies

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years software solution sales experience successfully selling into PSAP’s, Dispatch Centers and Police Departments

  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas

  • Strong attention to detail, creative, open-minded, and focused

  • Experience in managing multi-state territories

  • Advanced experience with CRM systems. Specifically MS D365 a plus

  • Technology proficiency: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.

  • Experience in the regular use MS Windows based laptops

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Polished presentation skills with significant experience in a Critical Communications, and/or PSAP sales environment selling a software application

  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form

  • Exceptional prospecting and opportunity qualifying skills

  • Work effectively with senior-level executives and staff

  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment

  • Demonstrated ability to create, develop and close solution sales

  • Problem solving and negotiation ability with special emphasis on resolving issues impacting departments or divisions

  • Keep abreast of new technology trends and how they apply to real world projects

  • Ability to work independently and to manage multiple objectives, tasks and clients

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally without driving or travel restrictions
